FG Postpones Fuel Subsidy Removal

Hajia Zainab Ahmed, The Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning,has makes it clear said on Monday in Abuja that the Federal Government had postponed the planned removal of subsidy on petroleum products till further notice. Ahmed stated this at a meeting held at the National Assembly. The meeting was convened at the instance of the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan. It had in attendance the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva and the Group Managing Director of the. NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari, among others. The Finance Minister said the Federal Government initially had the plans to remove subsidy on petroleum products from July this year. She said that was the reason adequate provision was made in the 2022 national budget for subsidy payment till June. She said, “Provision was made in the 2022 budget for subsidy payment from January till June.   The Authority  of kwara state polytechnic led by Engr Abdul Jimoh mohammed, has postponed the SUG/ NAKSS/ Institutes/Departmental Elections earlier scheduled to hold tomorrow Thursday 20th January, 2022. This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday evening by the polytechnic Directorate of Students Service (DSS), Mr Bolakale Ajadi. The statement reads in part, “the management had approved the shifting of the SUG/ NAKSS/ Institutes/Departmental Elections earlier scheduled to hold tomorrow Thursday 20th January, 2022, now to hold on Saturday 22nd January,2022. 10 Dead As Church Building Collapses During First Service in Delta.

    The building housing Salvation Ministry, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, has collapsed, with over 10 deaths recorded.  The building, which is being used for the first time, reportedly collapsed at about 5:55p.m. during Tuesday’s evening service. N10m Ransom pays to regain freedom in Zamfara

  Dr. Abdurrazak Muazu,a lecturer of Federal College of Education Technical Gusau in Zamfara State, has paid N10m for bandits to regain freedom of his wife and two daughter.  A family member, Mohammed Bello said the victims were released on the early hours of Monday when the bandits who earlier demanded the sum N50m have later agreed to collect N10m. Student Murdered Inside Hotel Room, Body Parts Removes.

 The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the  murder Jennifer Anthony, a 300 level student of the University of Jos, UNIJOS.  It was earlier reported that the deceased who was a student of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation Science of the University, was found dead in a hotel with her eyes gorged out. It was gathered that she was lured to Domus Pacis lodge along Zaria road Jos, by a man suspected to be her boyfriend, where she was drugged before being killed and her vital parts removed.  It was further gathered that the boyfriend after the dastardly act left the hotel and removed virtually everything that might be used to trace him including the lady’s phone and other valuables in her bag.  A source close to the hotel disclosed that the mutilated body of Jennifer was discovered by one of her friends who traced her to the hotel and discovered her in a pool of her blood while the eyes and other vital organs were missing.  The friend who discovered the incident

Officer Commits Suicide In Ondo.

 An official of the Nigeria Correctional Centre name Kayode Adeniyi has committed suicide by shooting himself in Ondo State.  The Correctional Officer identified who was attached to Segede Correctional Centre in Ondo West Local Government Area of the State was said to have shot himself. Adeniyi, popularly called ‘K-Pumping’, was said to have taken drastic action over his inability to pay bills.  The colleague who craved anonymity added that late Adeniyi was advised to relocate if he could not stand the situation or appeal to those he was owing for a better arrangement.
