 Don’t use the word ‘BEST ‘ in your Campaign, ARCON warns Kwarapoly Mass Communication students .

The Kwara state Coordinator Of Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria ARCON, Mr Yusuf Abdullateef Said this on Thursday 13 oct 2022, while admonishing the HND1 mass communication students of kwara state polytechnic , at the Advertising Pitch Presentation organized by the department for its HND pioneer students.


He further explains that , the use of the word ‘BEST’ is prohibited for every advertising practitioners in any of their advert campaign , as ARCON will not give its approval to any campaign ascribed with the word BEST.


Yusuf stresses further , saying ‘ you don’t have to call your self the best in a competitive market’ . He also give the instance of channels Television which has been awarded the best Television in Nigeria 14 times consecutively and they still do not regard themselves as the best.


He concluded that , the council he coordinates was formally known as Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria APCON , which gives chance to all advertisers to register and take part in the activities of the council, has now been renamed as Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria ARCON, and now saddled with the responsibility of checking all advert and regulating it before it gets approval.


He however appeal to media organizations not to take any advert that does not have the approval of ARCON all in the name of not wanting to lose money or client. As this will help ARCON discharge its duties much more effectively.
