Eleko residents pleads council chairman over bad road.

Elekoyangan residents have appealed to the local council chairman for the reconstruction of the damaged road in the area.

Residents who described the road as deplorable added that there was not a bit of a single road in the community that is motorable and could afford an effortless drive.

They also called on the state government to come to their aid by fixing the road.

A resident, Mrs. Adisa afusa, said the community had appealed severally to the state and local governments for arbitration in the construction of the road but to no avail.

She furthered that the government has not shown any sign of readiness to fix the roads. She added that the inhabitants of Eleko have not enjoyed the dividends of democracy as far as the provision of basic amenities is concerned.

“No roads in this area are motorable and we have streets in this community whose residents cannot take their vehicle home because there is no road to pass."

“We are suffering here. We don’t have stable electricity or an access road as the road is slippery when it rains."

Alhaja ramota, another resident while pleading with the state government maintained that these were the major needs of the residents and have been demanding the government to reconstruct our roads and give us good electricity.

"We have been on this matter for a long and it seems the government does not care about people living here as some of us cannot take our vehicle home again because the connecting roads have collapsed.

"They should be responsive to our plight,” she demanded.
