 Eleko: Student lives put at risk by negligent Landlords.

Landlords and Letting agents has put student lives in danger by failing to sort out dangerous electrical problems,Roof leakage,dangerous insects.

Some students of the Kwara State Polytechnic,Ilorin,who live in a hostels at Eleko lamented on suffering from roof leakage whenever it rains and water flooding their rooms and got their things spoilt in the process.

In an interview with a student of the hostel,Bakare Inioluwa.”I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a dangerous insect in my room,I ran out of my room and raised an alarm and luckily the insect was killed by the guys in my hostel, she said.

She further stated that There has been electrical problem in the hostel,whenever there is power supply one or two appliances got spoilt.

Bisola Eniola who is also a resident says:”My dishwasher flooded the kitchen and I couldn’t do anything to stop the water coming from the pipe.I called the letting agent and he said he will bring in a plumber but since then he hasn’t been replying “.

 She however urged Landlords to always attend to the maintenance of hostels, and be considerate in the hostels rent.
