The head coach of kwarapoly football team, Mr. Ogundiran John Adedayo has expressed confidence in the school management and the team ahead of nipoga games which will take place in Ede and Owo respectively
While speaking with our reporter in an interview at the early hour of Tuesday 11th October 2020, Ogundiran commended the school management under the leadership of Engr. (Dr.) Jimoh Abdul Muhammed for their tireless support and contribution towards the progress of the sport sector, and urges them to release all necessary equipment before the commencement of the competition to aid proper preparation.
Stating further, Ogundiran was full of praises for the organisers of the Nigeria all polytechnic games (Nipoga) for the opportunity given to players and coaches to showcase their capability and expertise.
The competition in which the polytechnic came 5th on the medal table and bagged gold medal in the football category in the previous edition has featured some prominent personalities both active and retired, among them are; Segun Odegbami (former Nigeria international footballer), Victor Olatunji who ply his trade in Cyprus, Issa Gata, Lanre Feri Yaro, among other talents who have made it through the games.
Ogundiran added that Nipoga is so much beneficial because it present opportunities to players to showcase their talent and also earned them lucrative deal both to the domestic league and abroad. It also gives coaches the exposure needed to be a successful team coach because you learn from every outing which are sometimes positive or negative.
However, Ogundiran pleads to the league coaches to pay much attention to Nipoga games by scouting players who are league standard, stating that if this can be considered, it will improve the Nigerian Professional League and also aid the nation's development as it will reduce the rate of unemployment.
