A Student of Kwara State Polytechnic in the area of Eleko Community,Miss Folashade Mary on Friday condemned the use of firewood for cooking by the villagers in the area. 


Miss Folashade in an interview with our reporter, Basirat Olajumoke said that using of firewood at this modern era should be legally prohibited by the state government adding that the smoke from the Firewood is very harmful to the health and at times leads to a serious cough or reddish eyes.



She furthered that students clothes at times absorb the smell of the smoke anytime they pass around the environment firewood is being used.


She added that it cannot be avoided because they live in the community and appeal to the community leader to however have a meeting with them.

 Lack of waste bin cause water pollution in Sahoo, residents decried. By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.
