FIVE MONTHS BLACKOUT; AKUO COMMUNITY WAILS.

Akuo community in Moro Local Government of Kwara state has been in total outage of electrical power supply for the past five months due to faulty electricity transformer.
Speaking with one of the resident in the community Mr. Hakeem he laments on the electricity transformer gdevelop fault in June 2022, leaving the whole community into darkness and nothing has been done about it by the Government.
He further stated how the community tried all effort to fix it by charging each house in the community to pay a certain sum of money and the light was restored only for it to develop some faults again.
According to Odedoyin Abimbola, a student of Kwara state Polytechnic living in the community she said, "the outage of the power supply in the community has really caused both the student and villagers a serious stress as there are no means of charging their phones and lamps. It has become a problem for us to read at night. We always wander about everyday and night searching for a place with generator to charge our phones, laptops and lamps".
The community pleads for aid from the Kwara state government on securing another electricity transformer.
