 While the people of the elekoyakuba community of kwara state,carrying out their daily activities, a tragedic fire struck at the GQ lodge hostel leading to pandemonium following the sound of an explosion.


It was reported that the explosion happened precisely in room 5 of the hostel , adding that it was caused by the leakage of a gas cylinder.



However,The victims were reportedly trying to cook with the faulty cylinder. (Leaked) cylinder.


An eyewitness Mrs damiola Nicola,said that the explosion was caused by one of the occupants of the building who was frying with her gas cooker inside her room, it was noted that her room is radiating , that made her sense that fire is burning in her room.


It was further reported that Most rooms in the lodge were affected and many properties were destroyed,emphasizing that no life was lost in the process.


The community leader urges all the students to be careful with the use of their gas and to always check it if is locked before leaving the house .

 Lack of waste bin cause water pollution in Sahoo, residents decried. By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.

  By Mariam Abdulkareem Kwara State University, Malete facilitates the transport system with (40) forty new shuttle buses to convey Students on campus as the varsity set to complete it's smart city hostel that has the capacity to accommodate nothing less than five thousand Students. KWASU Vice Chancellor, prof. Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi on the 31st of January, 2022 Commissioned the project and unveil the new buses today in name of KWASU administrators, Students and the committee incharge of the buses maintenance and safety.
