 Kwara: DG EXPLAINS STATUS OF SMALL ARMS TASK FORCE.

Director General of the proscribed National

Taskforce on Prohibition of Illegal

Importation-Smuggling of Small Arms,

Ammunition and Light Weapons (NATFORCE),

Dr. Baba Mohammed, has said that the

pronouncement on the body only amounts to the transition of its name to the National

Commission (NATCOM).


According to reports, passage of the bill to establish the National Commission for the Coordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light

Weapons by the Senate and the awaiting

concurrence by the House of Representatives.


He, however, clarified that while the body had conceded to the proscription order after the recent meeting of Federal Executive Council

(FEC), it had equally championed that the

name should simply read NATCOM.
