 Lack of waste bin causing waste mismanagement, Oke-Andi Residents says

Resident of Oke Andi in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State has said that lack of waste can in the area is causing waste mismanagement in the area which is having bad effect on residence health. 


In an interview with one of the residence, Mallam Idrise cried out to the government to intervene in providing a good disposable can for them in the area, adding that the lack of the waste bin is causing different diseases in the area such as Malaria, typhoid amongst other diseases. 


He said the community need a disposable can. 


Speaking with one of the students Mistura who live close to the refuse dumping point, complained terribly on how she often fight Malaria due to the waste mismanagement in the area. 


In the same vein, a trader in the community Boladale Christian also complained about the issue, saying that her son’s has been infected with Malaria time to time. 


The residents however called on the government for their urgent intervention.

    Those people needs to do it themselves now... They're the one pulling all dis trash over there.... We as a citizen of Nigeria we all believe in government in anything we're doing. In that specific area, they will be a student who's an indigen of the area he or she should create a group and let dem turn up and clean it up... Den media should take over while they're doing it.. The local government chairman will be ashamed of himself

    The local government in that axis has a lot to do, by making sure there is a central waste disposal point that will be accessible to them to evacuate waste periodically. Also the people of the community can make extra money by practicing waste recycling . Above all they should derived a means of managing their waste effectively as the saying goes cleanliness is next to Godliness.

 Lack of waste bin cause water pollution in Sahoo, residents decried. By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.
