 Man found dead in Asa Dam



A 22-year-old man identifies as Sodiq Mustapha has been confirmed dead as he drown in Ilorin Asa Dam.


The body was recovered by the Rescue Team of the State Water Resources. 


According to the spokesman of the rescue team, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, in a statement in Ilorin identified the deceased as Sodiq Mustapha, who hailed from Sheji Compound, Kankatu in Okelele area of Ilorin, the state capital.


"The recovery operation was carried out at about 9.40a.m, in the presence of the state Commissioner and Permanent Secretary, Kwara state Ministry of Water Resources," the spokesman stated.


Director of the state water resources service, Prince Awwal Olumuyiwa, consoled the family of the victim.


He there advised parents to watch over their children’s movement in order to avert similar future occurrences.

By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.
