Okefoman community: incessant erosion has rendered the community shapeless and not motorable

The residents of okefoma community, ilorin, kwara state, has decried the havoc of erosion damage in the community.
A resident of Okefomon community in Ilorin west local government, Mr Mubarak Sulaiman has expressed that failure on the part of the house owners in the community to construct good drainage that will ensure free movement of flood during rain has contributed in no small measure to the frequent erosion that always engulfed the nook and cranny of the community, adding that it result to the street bad condition shapeless.
Mr Sulaiman who stated this in an interview with the newsmen on saturday said failure on the part of the local government authority to intervene on the challenges facing the community has also contributed to the incessant erosion that rendered the community in a bad shape. He however called on the stake holders: The house owners, youths and the head of the community to put in place proper measures so as to tackle this situation as a matter of urgency.

ReplyDeletePeople and communities need to take responsibilities. Not waiting and relying on government everytime for everything. Proper spacing between the houses, Leaving and creating spaces for water to flow seamlessly must be ensured by the people collectively. Water is natural, it is inevitable. It comes every year for a period. Thanks.
