 Residents of Amilegbe lamented over the flooding in their Area

Residents of Amilegbe, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State, have lamented over the flooding in their area, due to the frequent raining.


In an interview with one of the residents in the area, Abdulganiyu Gidado, said that the recent flooding has caused huge damages to the businesses of the people living in that area.


Abdulganiyu said that the flooding took place as a result of people non- challant attitudes of the residents, adding that despite the earnest warning given to them through the weather forecasters.



He further said that this kind of flooding was last experienced in the year 2014.


However he urge the community to always take care of their environments, in order to avoid this kind of environmental disasters because in the previous years the flooding was not much as what is experience in the year 2022.


Abdulganiyu. Also urged the state government to construct new drainages, because the flooding was caused due to the fact that the drainages are no longer accommodating.

 Lack of waste bin cause water pollution in Sahoo, residents decried. By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.
