RAZAQ RUKAYAT PAMILERIN

Residents around Tanke oke odo axis of kwara state laments over inadequate waste management service rendered by the state government through its agencies, saying they were charged promptly despite not being offered commensurate service.

In an interview with a resident, Yusuff Imranat Kofoworola, she said the community has been having the issue of piling up wastes for a very long time and it is being a culture stating that the waste in front of his house has been piled up for over six weeks and nothing has been done to it because the waste disposal agents have not even bothered to come close as all waste bins in the community have been overwhelmed with wastes.

Speaking with Mr. Rasheed Kazeem, Chairman, Landlords association Tanke, he charged government to create more awareness on benefits and methods of proper waste recycling methods, stating that majority of citizens are not aware of recycling especially separating perishable from non perishable waste.

However, Rasheed urge Kwara government to sensitize the residents on how to dispose waste and also charge the waste management agency to improve their service in the community.
