Tanke Shop owners Lament Over the Ongoing Bridge Construction

Shop Owners at Tanke axis, Ilorin have lamented as they have low patronage experience due to the construction of the ongoing Tunde Idiagbon bridge at Tanke, Tipper garage.
The shop owners who expressed their grievance in an interview with our correspondent on Friday, said the bridge construction which started in November, 2021 has caused low patronage by customers and also led to difficulties for some commuters as they find it very difficult to get to there destination.
Aminat Sanni, a curtain seller, whose shop is located in the area urge the Kwara State Government to speed the bridge construction, lamenting over the loss dust had caused her during the early stage of the construction.
Also speaking with our correspondent, Mr. Segun, a mobile phone technician, also expressed his dissatisfaction over the reduction in the patronage of his business.
He said, adding that ever since the construction of the bridge have started, customers have not been coming to his shop as they use to come before.
He furthered that whenever he asked them, some of them will complain about how its very difficult to trek to his shop.
The Phone Engineer also pleased to the government to speed the construction of the bridge.
Some Okada riders and Taxi driver also expressed their pain and displeasure on the ongoing construction as it affected them in the daily business.
Issa Yusuf, an Okada rider, told our correspondent that the bridge construction has increased his working hour and reduces his daily income.
He said he is aware that the government is doing the project to ease the transportation of people, however urged them to make the work faster.
