Waste mismanagement at Agbede, residents decries

Residents of Agbede area,Polygate, Ilorin, Kwara State have decried over the increase in waste mismanagement in the area. 


In an interview with the Agbede Community Head, Alhaji Abdul lateef Adam, who expressed grievous at the issue it has caused disease for both adult and children in their community. 


He furthered that they have been trying to reach the government to help them solve the problem for them, adding that they have also started going from house to house to warn people to desist from the behavior. 


Another resident, Mrs Sherifat Ibrahim said that some house did not have toilet and some that have did not make use of it and that is why there is open defecation in the area. 


She however pleaded to the community head to lay out some rules and penalty for those that did not have toilet and those that have should make use of it, adding that the fear of the penalty will allow them to abide by the rules.

 Lack of waste bin cause water pollution in Sahoo, residents decried. By: Muhammad Sanni Aisha  fauziyat Qozeem a resident of sahoo said people dump waste product inside the river in sahoo, particularly the villagers at night. Fauziyat further stated that the dumping of waste products inside the river, had caused water pollution in the area, and makes the community looks unkept. She however appeal to kwara state government, and all stakeholders in the community to provide them a suitable waste-bin, and urge the residents to make proper use of it when it provided.
