We are in darkness - Akuo community decries.
Residents of Akuo Village, Kwara State have decried that they have been in darkness for the past five month when their transformer broke down.
Mogaji Akuo, Alhaji Mohammed Ayanda, in an interview with our reporter on sunday, said they have been in darkness for five month due to their transformer that stopped working as a result of ove
rload, adding that the community could not afford to get a new one.
Ayanda furthered that the community have spent N1.2million on the transformer to repair it, but all their effort proved abortive, adding that the engineer are still working on the coil of the transformer and is yet to be completed due to incomplete repairing fee.
It was gathered that the house population in the community that is consuming the power from transformer has been more the capacity of the transformer which led to the its breakdown.
The residents however called unto Kwara State Government to comes to their aide and give them new transformer in other to make the community more conducive for them and the the student living within.
