NAMCOS CONGRESS: CEEJAY'S TEAM REBIRTHS INITIATION, PROMISES BETTER LEADERSHIP
The National Association of Mass Communication Students [NAMCOS] under the leadership of Sen. Joshua Adeyeye in the 2nd edition of NAMCOS CONGRESS organized by the association's Legislative Council (NLC) has promised the students of the department a better administration with numerous achievement to keep count of before their team drops power.
The program which was held at the Kwara state polytechnic Conference Hall on April 4th, 2023 was targeted at meeting face-to-face between the executives and the students in order to hear from them what they truly want and how well they think the administration has done so far.
The Speaker, head of the NLC, Rt. Hon. Shukurat Temitope Ibrahim in her opening speech said she is proud of the team and they are fully ready to continue to serve the students the more in order to keep the department's flag flying high and standing out in the polytechnic and its environ.
Also, the president, Sen. Joshua Adeyeye in his speech extended his appreciation to the Head of department, Mr. Saadudeen A.A, the Staff Adviser, Mr. Olohungbebe F.T and every other lecturers in the department. He as well recognized the presence of all class governors and the ambassadors in attendance, the likes of Comr. Abdulwarith Adesoye, Director of social activities, NANS headquarters, Rt. Hon. Lekan Tajudeen, IICT speaker, Comr. Waliu Jimoh, IICT treasurer, Comr. Ibrahim Karasy, IICT social director 2, Comr. Ibrahim, IICT sport director 2 and who were special guess at the occasion.
Speaking further, the president stated that, "With the help of God and support of everyone of you seated here today, our administration has achieved NAMCOS semester prayer, freshers' orientation, health outreach, NAMCOS media online, NAMCOS iftar in the month of Ramadan and now, NAMCOS congress. We are still pressing on to achieve more before the end of our tenure which we will need more of your support and cooperation".
Minutes into the program, students were given the privilege to ask the executives questions directly which questions were asked on what the union is doing to make more classrooms available for the students of the department, how to go about students with deficiency in their o' level and hasn't been cleared, intellectual programs that the executives has put in place to identify and build talents in the department, how the executives has been handling sporting activities, and many more which were brilliantly addressed by the executives.
At the end of the program, the speaker which is equally the head of the legislative council and the chairman of the disciplinary committee appointed, swear in and tagged 2 representatives from each classes and all class governors as members of the disciplinary committee which are charged with the responsibility of making sure students of the department abide by the departmental dress code on selected days, and decently dressed on other days of the week.
However, the program was ended by the speaker's speech advising students to abide by the department, institute and polytechnic's rules and regulations in order to be a good ambassador of the polytechnic.
