Kwara State Polytechnic's Department of Mass Communication has kicked off a three-day campaign aimed at promoting the use of the library and emphasizing the importance of reading books. The campaign, titled "Feed your curiosity, feed your soul: visit the library," will feature two days of online activities followed by a physical campaign on the third day.

The campaign, organized by the Department of Mass Communication, seeks to encourage students to explore the vast resources available in the library and foster a culture of reading among the student community. Recognizing the pivotal role that libraries play in knowledge acquisition, the campaign aims to highlight the benefits of utilizing the library's facilities and the transformative power of books.

On the first two days of the campaign, a series of online activities will be conducted to engage students virtually. These activities include interactive discussions and sharing of reading recommendations. The department plans to leverage social media platforms and online forums to reach a wider audience and create a buzz around the campaign.

The third day will witness a physical campaign, where students and faculty members will gather at the campus library to experience its offerings firsthand. The library will organize book exhibitions, showcasing a diverse range of literary works, from academic references to popular fiction. There will also be workshops conducted by experienced librarians, providing students with insights into effective research methodologies and utilizing library resources efficiently.

Speaking about the campaign, the President of the Department of Mass Communication, Sen. Adeyeye Joshua, emphasized the need for students to embrace reading as a lifelong habit. He stated, "We believe that reading not only enhances knowledge but also nurtures the soul. By promoting the use of the library, we hope to inspire students to expand their horizons, ignite their curiosity, and embark on a journey of self-discovery."

The campaign has generated enthusiasm among the student body, with many expressing their eagerness to participate in the activities and explore the vast collection of books available at the library. Several students have also volunteered to assist in organizing and promoting the campaign, reflecting the collective belief in the campaign's objective.

The "Feed your curiosity, feed your soul: visit the library" campaign represents a significant effort by the Department of Mass Communication at Kwara State Polytechnic to cultivate a reading culture among students. By encouraging the use of the library, the department aims to foster a love for books, empower students with knowledge, and ultimately contribute to their personal and intellectual growth.
