Traffic robbers attacks, injures Actress Kemi Afolabi in ogun

Popular Nollywood actress, Kemi  Afolabi,  narrated her Crucible with armed robbers who attacked her and her driver on their way from a movie shoot on Wednesday.  According to her, the incident took place in  Arepo area of Ogun state on Tuesday night. Afolabi took to her verified Instagram page to share pictures and videos of her injured arm as she claimed that the robbers destroyed her car and injured her with a cutlass. She wrote, “I am in a state of shock! Traumatised!! I haven’t closed my eyes to sleep since yesterday. “I also experienced the highly poor insecurity state in Nigeria which has become a norm. The members of the Olubadan-in-Council have announced and endorsed the nomination of Dr Lekan Balogun as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland. The Governing Council of  Osun State University has announced on Monday, the appointment of Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye as the 4th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.    Making the announcement in Osogbo on Monday, Yusuf Ali, the Pro-Chancellor of the university and Chairman of Council stated that the appointment of Professor Adebooye followed the approval of the State’s Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, during his visit to the school. Teni Voice Out On Gunshot Hap In Rivers.

Nigerian popular Hip hop artiste, Teniola Apata has voice out on escaping a gunshot hap in Portharcourt, Rivers State. VAM News had earlier reported that Teni while performing on stage during her concert in Portharcourt had to run for her life after shots were fired. There were varying reports about the incident earlier in the day following the emergence of the video.  An eyewitness said there was an attempt to kidnap Teni but her bodyguards fired gunshots in the air to rescue her out of the venue. Another report claimed that a fight had broken out in the crowd which got violent and gunshots were fired.  Teniola, reacting, took to her Instagram page sharing a video of her running to catch a plane out of Rivers State. El-Rufai Declares Bomb Forests To Tackle Banditry

Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai has stated that security operatives should “carpet bomb the forests” to rub out bandits in northwest region of Nigeria. This was stated by the governor in a chat with Arise TV on Monday. El-Rufai attributed the prolonged inability of security operatives to curb banditry in the northwest region to a “lack of enough boots on the ground”. He added that more investment in security personnel, technology and military equipment will see bandits wiped out “once and for all”. “These bandits operate in the periphery because their hiding place is in the forest. It’s a major problem.    A non governmental organization, golden charity foundation has given out alms to more than one hundred needy in Ilorin for the celebration of Christmas festival.    The organization did this on Christmas day,where many gift were donated to city of refuge  orphanage home pipeline Gaa Akanbi Ilorin. CELF announces prize awards for outstanding fellows in Ilorin

  Countryside Emerging Leaders Fellowship (CELF) and its partners have announced prize awards for outstanding fellows in the just concluded camping exercise for the second edition of the fellowship. Announcing the prizes on Thursday, Convener of CELF, Mallam Lawal Olohungbebe, who appraised the outstanding performance of the fellows, said it was difficult picking the best considering that all the participants put in their best efforts to justify their selection for the programme.  Olohungbebe noted that some fellows, more than others, met the specific requirements spelt out for some awards and the requirements of the donors.
