Speaking with is one of the residents of Kwarapoly axis,Miss Adegoke Agnes, said that the epileptic power supply have caused a lot of hovc, adding that they have to go to different house to charge their home appliances and phone. According to Adeshewa musa ,a student living around as well disclosed that charging of phone and appliances in the neighborhood ,hearing of generator in the area,  has become a bad night mare for everyone in the area.  ASUU: Kwara govt offers free transportation to students.  By Afolayan Bashirat Adebukola The Kwara State Government has offered  free transportation to all interested students of tertiary institutions in the Northern part of the country on resumption for academic activities. The suspension of the eight months industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Alabi Abolore, disclosed this at a meeting in Ilorin today. He further explained that the concerned students travelling to the North are expected to appear for a brief documentation on the same day of their departure within the premises of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, along Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin ,on Saturday, October 29, 2022 by 6:30am. The commissioner disclosed further that the Ministry is also at the verge of concluding the bursary disbursement when online portal registration of would-be beneficiary is opened. Speaking with newsmen is one of the resident of the hostel, shola saliu the soak away got damaged since about 3 weeks ago and several complaints has been made to the landlord yet no solution has been made to correct this. She however called on concern stakeholders in the community to find a lasting solution to it.

Ogundipe Toluwalope My tour through Taiwo,olorunsogo,Surulere, and Maraba revealed  heaps of refuse littering the streets of the metropolis which is very harmful to healthy living. Ogundipe Toluwalope observed that dumping of refuse on median separators and roadsides is not only an eye sore but constitute health risks. Although the state government's efforts to evacuate the waste on a daily basis is commendable,a cross section of people who spoke to me believes there should be a better option to waste disposal in Ilorin than exposing human wastes to the public because of its health implication. For Kwara State to regain its lost glory of being one of the cleanest states, residents should advocate attitudinal change and stiffer punishment for violators.

 Yakuba Residents demand proactive efforts from government, relevant agencies. By: Adeshina Ameerat Omotayo. Residents of Yakuba, ilorin, Kwara State have called on the state government, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kwara State Emergency Management Agency and relevant agencies to prevent another flooding in the state. This is given the recent warning issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) to Southern states to expect high-intensity rainfall and riverine flooding in the remaining days of the rainy season. A house owner, Oluwaseun Babatunde stated that he and his family had to relocate from their house temporarily due to the flood. He however urged kwara state government and all concerned stakeholders to find lasting solution to it.

 AGBEDE RESIDENTS POLLUTE OUR SCHOOL- KWARAPOLY STUDENT GRIEVES.  By: olatoyinbo kafayat omotayo A student of Kwara state polytechnic, Ilorin calls the attention of the school management to pollution caused by residents of Agbede and the harms it could cause if not attended to.  In an interview with the student, Jamiu Lukman stated that the air pollution disturbing the school lately is caused by the nearby village.  Jamiu furthered that the stink of the malodorous smell coming come the village is harmful to the health of the students and it needs to be taken care of.  Lukmon added that, "We are supposed to be in a conducive and safe environment in order to be healthy and study to achieve our aim of being school".  Kwarapoly: Students face difficulty in collection of certificate. By: Ibrahim Yusuf Olatunji Students of Kwara state polytechnic, Ilorin laments over difficulty in processing their certificate as a result of change in the mode of certificate to E-certificate.        According to an ex-student of the polytechnic who graduated from the department of business administration, Akinkunmi Babalola, he stated that some student have completed their HND program and they are yet to lay hands on their ND certificate. And this is as a result of change in the normal procedure for processing certificate. Furthermore, Akinkumi said the new procedure of capturing initiated by the school management has caused great difficulties for students and made process of collection of certificate more tasky and stressful. However, he urges the school management to look into the process and probably make provision for more centers where the capturing will be done to ease stress and hasten the process.

 Passengers laments over transport increase in Ilorin.  By: Aderemi Odunayo Dorcas  Passengers in Ilorin express worries over sudden change in price of transportation in Ilorin, kwara state capital.     Mr. Mustapha Bello, a passenger told newsmen in an interview that the sudden increase in prices of transportation is worrisome as it will contribute to increase in prices of commodities as well.      He added that taxies, motorcycles and tricycles have increased short distance fee from #50 to #80, while distance that use to be charged #100 is now #300 and above depending on how the passenger can negotiate.  However, the attention of the union in charge regulating transportation prices is called upon to look into this issue and normalize the prices again.

 Open defecation: an environmental problem seeking attention in kwarapoly By OGAR Jennifer abidemi                                              Kwara state polytechnic has been experiencing harmful environmental problems such as open defecation. This problem is majorly caused by the lack of provision of facilities such as “ TOILET “ by the school management. This left the students and staff of the school with no choice but to engage in open defecation.      The resident around the school and the villagers also engage in this activity because most of their houses do not have the necessary facilities needed.   This engagement has caused nothing but more serious harm than good to the institution and the resident. The act of open defecation has caused the spread of diseases such as cholera, and typhoid in the environment of the polytechnic. The suspect is said to have admitted to the act and demonstrated how easy it is to steal batteries from vehicles without chevaliers.  KWARA STATE BEGINS DISBURSEMENT OF 600M GRANT TO 30,000 TRADERS.  By ALABI SHUAIB BOLAJI  Kwara State Government today commenced the distribution of a whopping sum of N600m grant to empower at least 30,000 women and petty traders across the sixteen local governments of the State. It was reported that The support, which is being coordinated under the Kwara State Social Investment Programme KWASSIP), is a replica of World Bank programme. However,Nigerian  for Women Project, with each of the beneficiaries receiving N20,000 to support their trades. The disbursement exercise started with Asa,Ilorin West and Ilorin South, while other local governments are scheduled for the coming days.

It furthered that the cow's dunk attracts insects which are harmful to student health.  It added that the cattle can attack any student with its horn and might result in the loss of life.    The source who seeks anonymity appeals to the school management to look for a way to stop this act as some violent herdsmen might attack students.

It was reported that there were present of high personality in the event ,ranging from so head of department, mr saadudeen Abdul Rasheed, me akewushola, the director of student affairs Mr ajadi and some other high personalities . The product that was pitched were odfel, kwara poly water, kwara poly bread, and kwara poly . By: Olaewe Bariyyah Omolara.  Director General of the proscribed National Taskforce on Prohibition of Illegal Importation-Smuggling of Small Arms, Ammunition and Light Weapons (NATFORCE), Dr. Baba Mohammed, has said that the pronouncement on the body only amounts to the transition of its name to the National Commission (NATCOM). According to reports, passage of the bill to establish the National Commission for the Coordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons by the Senate and the awaiting concurrence by the House of Representatives. He, however, clarified that while the body had conceded to the proscription order after the recent meeting of Federal Executive Council recent meeting of Federal Executive Council (FEC), it had equally championed that the name should simply read NATCOM.

Speaking with newsmen, one of the traders ,Mrs Salawu Mobolape made a disclosed that persistence rise in general commodity in the market, adding that the price of commodity in the market is not stable ,whenever they order for goods from the wholesaler the price keep on increasing almost everyday.     she further said that the inflation on goods have become their major problem in the market ,both the retailers and consumers have turned them to be unfaithful .     Mr olarenwaju soliu also complained on how inflation has reduced their sales in the market, adding that as at last year of this period, sales of at least 20 bags of rice daily was made but now they hardly sell 8 bags of rice daily.     They further urged both the federal and state government to come to stabilize price of the commodiies.

 OYUN RESIDENTS DECRY OVER POOR LINKING ROAD    By :Alabi Taiwo Tope The inhabitants of oyun have expressed their dissatisfaction as there is no linked road to their homes. One of the landlords, Mr. Rafiu who wants to sell off his houses in the area along the seventh day's church reveals that people do not want to buy the house as they complained that there is no road linking to the house if they want to work at the site.     The issue of linked roads has caused many problems in the community as many do not want their land to be used as a road. "we have tried to collapse one abandoned building but the family of the owner rejects it and also tried to use another person's land to create a road which he also rejects"    Most of the community members fenced their houses so that they will not use their land for roads. Members of the community have called for the directorate of physical planning and development control as it is becoming unacceptable for them.
